Product Structure

Xlpe Insulated Pvc Sheathed Swa Mv Cable

XLPE Insulated PVC Sheathed SWA MV Cable is composed of a T1R copper conductor , XLPE insulation, PVC wrapping tape Steel wires armour and PVC sheath.

Conductor: Copper or Aluminium conductor , round standed or Shaped, Class 2 to IEC 60228

and GB/T 3956-2008.

Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene insulation,Insulation thickness, material property shall be as per IEC 60502-2 and GB/T 12706.2,GB/T 12706.3.

Conductor shielding: The conductor shielding should be composed of extruded semiconducting non-metallic material, which should be tightly bonded to the insulation.

Insulation shielding: The insulation shielding should consist of a combination of a non-metallic semiconductive layer and a metallic layer. Each insulated wire core should be directly extruded with a non-metallic semiconductive layer that is tightly bonded to the insulated wire core or can be peeled off. Then, a metallic shielding layer should be overlapped and wrapped around the non-metallic semiconductive layer, and it should comply with the provisions of IEC 60502-2, GB/T 12706.2, and GB/T 12706.3.Inner coverings: The inner coverings shall be extruded. The materials shall be suitable for the operating temperature of the cable and compatible with the insulating material.

Steel wires armour: In the multicore cables, the armour shall be applied on an inner covering complying steel wires . The single-core cables for use on a.c. systems shall consist of non-magnetic steel wires.

Outer sheath:PVC sheath, Sheath thickness, material property shall be as per IEC 60502.2 and GB/T 12706.

Flame-retradant cable: Flame-retardant PVC outer sheath material shall be used. The flame retardant grades can be classified into three categories: Bunch A, B, and C.

Process and Cost

The process of fine steel wire armor is complex, the material cost is high, and the overall price is even higher

The steel tape armor technology is mature and relatively low cost

When budget is limited and there is no tensile demand, YJV22 is preferred

YJV32 is more adaptable to laying in confined spaces






Selection suggestions:

1. If the scenario primarily involves withstanding pressure (such as direct burial, underground utility tunnels), and there is no significant tensile force or high drop height, steel tape armor (YJV22, CU/XLPE/PVC/STA/PVC) is recommended for its higher cost-effectiveness.

2. If vertical laying, large span, underwater or high drop height is involved, and axial tensile force needs to be withstood, steel wire armor (YJV32, CU/XLPE/PVC/SWA/PVC) should be preferred to ensure long-term operational safety.

3. Both must match the voltage level of the medium-voltage system, conductor cross-section, and protection requirements of the laying environment (special requirements such as corrosion resistance and flame retardancy can be customized additionally).
