Beida Group is a manufacturer and supplier of cables and wires with over 30 years of experience. Among our control cable series, the XLPE Insulated PVC Sheathed Control Cable plays a crucial role in various industrial control and signal transmission applications due to its reliable structure and performance. This cable uses cross-linked polyethylene for core insulation and a polyvinyl chloride outer sheath.
XLPE insulated PVC sheathed control cable is a type of cable specifically designed for control, monitoring, and protection circuits. It is primarily used for connecting electrical equipment and instruments in power distribution systems, ensuring stable transmission of electrical energy and signals. Typical applications include fixed installations in indoor environments, cable trenches, and conduits.
In terms of electrical performance, these cables typically have a rated voltage of 450/750V, and products with special requirements can also reach a voltage level of 0.6/1kV. An important performance parameter is their long-term allowable operating temperature; thanks to the XLPE insulation material, the conductor operating temperature can reach 90℃, which is higher than the 70℃ level of traditional PVC insulation.
We offer a wide range of product models to meet different needs. Common models include KYJV (basic type), KYJV22 (steel tape armored type, suitable for applications requiring resistance to significant mechanical stress), KYJVP/KYJVP2 (braided or copper tape shielded type, used in applications requiring electromagnetic interference resistance), and KYJVR (flexible cable, suitable for applications requiring mobility).
The structure of XLPE insulated PVC sheathed control cables, from inside to outside, typically consists of: copper conductor, XLPE insulation layer, filler layer (if needed), inner sheath (for some models), armor layer (if needed), and the outermost layer is a PVC outer sheath. This structural combination provides multiple layers of protection.
The XLPE insulation layer is crucial; this material, through a cross-linking process, significantly improves heat resistance, mechanical strength, and aging resistance. Its electrical performance is also excellent, exhibiting low dielectric loss and stable insulation resistance.
The outer PVC sheath primarily provides mechanical protection, effectively resisting external forces, friction, moisture, and the erosion of various chemical substances, ensuring the safety of the internal structure.
Compared to cables with other insulating materials, XLPE insulated PVC sheathed control cables demonstrate several advantages.
In terms of heat resistance: their long-term operating temperature of 90℃ is significantly better than conventional PVC insulated cables (70℃), making them suitable for environments with higher ambient temperatures or where there is a certain temperature rise.
In terms of electrical stability: XLPE material has stable performance, ensuring signal transmission quality and reducing losses.
In terms of mechanical and environmental adaptability: the PVC sheath provides excellent overall protection, and the cable has strong adaptability during installation; the ambient temperature during installation should not be lower than 0℃. The allowable bending radius has specific requirements depending on the structure; for example, unarmored cables should have a bending radius no less than 6 times the cable's outer diameter, while armored or shielded cables should have a bending radius no less than 12 times the outer diameter.
If your application requires high reliability and durability, we recommend this type of cable. For example, it is a common choice in power plants, substations, industrial automation production lines, and in relatively complex environments such as petrochemical plants and mines.
For precision control circuits that require protection against electromagnetic interference, models with shielding structures are available.
Beida Group possesses a variety of advanced production and testing equipment, including wire drawing machines, insulation extrusion machines, cabling machines, armoring machines, withstand voltage testers, and conductor DC resistance testers. This provides a solid foundation for the stable production of XLPE insulated PVC sheathed control cables that meet standards, and can meet the needs of various projects, from general applications to those with specific shielding, armoring, or flame-retardant requirements.
