XLPE Insulated PVC Sheathed SWA Power Cable

XLPE Insulated PVC Sheathed SWA Power Cable is composed of a T1R copper conductor , XLPE insulation, PVC wrapping tape Steel-weirs armour and PVC sheath.

Common cable types are YJV32, ZC-YJV32, ZB-YJV 32, ZA-YJV 32, ZCN-YJV 32, ZBN-YJV32, ZCN-YJV32, CU/XLPE/PVC/SWA/PVC, CU/MICA/XLPE/PVC/SWA/PVC.


Product Structure

Xlpe Insulated Pvc Sheathed Swa Power Cable

XLPE Insulated PVC Sheathed SWA Power Cable is composed of a T1R copper conductor , XLPE insulation, PVC wrapping tape Steel-weirs armour and PVC sheath.


Conductor: Copper or Aluminium conductor , round standed or Shaped, Class 2 to IEC 60228

and GB/T 3956-2008, For cross-section area is not more than 6mm2, a solid round

conductor may be used, Class 1 to IEC 60228 and GB/T 3956-2008.

Insulation: Insulation thickness, material property shall be as per IEC 60502 and GB/T 12706.


Core Colour: 1 core: red or yellow or green or blue or black

2 cores: red, blue or red, black

3 cores: yellow, green, red or red, yellow, blue

4 cores: yellow, green, red, blue or red, yellow, blue, black

5 cores: yellow, green, red, blue, black or red, yellow, blue, black, green

Above 5 coes: white cores with black number or different colored ribbon

Inner coverings: The inner coverings may be extruded or lapped. The materials shall be suitable for the operating temperature of the cable and compatible with the insulating material.

Steel-wires armour: In the multicore cables, the armour shall be applied on an inner covering complying steel wires. The single-core cables for use on a.c. systems shall consist of non-magnetic steel wires.

Outer sheath: Sheath thickness, material property shall be as per IEC 60502 and GB/T 12706.

Flame-retradant cable: Flame-retardant PVC outer sheath material shall be used. The flame retardant grades can be classified into three categories: Bunch A, B, and C.

Fire-resistance cable: Two layer of Mica tape shall be wound around the conductor.

Test voltage: 3.5kV for 5 minutes no brokendown occured

Working temperature: -5º C to +90 ºC

Short circuit temperature: +250 ºC

Minimum Flexing Bending radius: 15* OD;

Minimum Static Bending radius: 10* OD;


Cable test:

1. Conductor DC resistance test: 20ºC conductor DC resistance shall comply with GB/T 3956-2008, IEC 60228.

2. AC voltage test: 3.5kV/5min, no breakdown.


Sampling test:

1. Conductor structure inspection: It shall comply with the technical requirements of GB/T 3956-2008, IEC 60228.

2. The size of insulation, lining, steel tape armor and sheath structure shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 12706.1-2020, IEC 60502.1.


Thermal elongation test:

The sampling and test procedures shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 2951.21-2008, IEC 60811-2-1, Chapter 9, and the results shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 12706.1-2020, IEC 60502.1.


Type test:

The mechanical and physical performance test of insulation and sheath shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 12706.1-2020 and IEC 60502.1.


Electrical performance shall comply with GB/T 12706.1-2020, IEC 60502.1

The single cable burning test shall comply with GB/T 19666-2019, IEC 60332.

The bundled flame retardant test of the cable meets the requirements of GB/T 19666-2019, IEC 60332.

The fire resistance test of cables shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 19666-2019 and IEC 60331.
