750V Mineral Insulated Cables

Tianjin Beida is a China 750V Mineral Insulated Cables manufacturer and supplier. This cable is made of metallic and inorganic materials. It has a continuous operating temperature of 250°C and can provide power for 3 hours at 950°C to 1000°C. For short periods or emergencies, it can operate at temperatures close to the melting point of copper (1083°C) (the melting point of magnesium oxide is 2800°C). In the event of a fire, this cable does not produce smoke or toxic gases and meets the requirements of flame retardant Class A.

750V Mineral Insulated Cables can operate stably in continuous high-temperature environments up to 250℃, making it suitable for long-term high-temperature operations. Under extreme high-temperature conditions, such as fire scenarios with temperatures between 950℃ and 1000℃, the cable can maintain its integrity and provide continuous power for at least 3 hours, providing valuable power support for emergency lighting, fire-fighting equipment, and critical control systems.

In short-term or special emergency situations, its temperature resistance can approach the melting point of copper conductors (1083℃), while the inorganic insulation material it uses has a melting point as high as 2800℃, far exceeding the temperature of conventional fires. This ensures that the cable maintains structural integrity and normal function throughout the initial and spread stages of a fire.

750V Mineral Insulated Cables are suitable for use in densely populated areas, including main and branch power distribution systems, general lighting, internal wiring of machinery and equipment, intrinsically safe circuits, emergency lighting, emergency backup power supplies, information and data transmission and control lines for fire-fighting equipment, and potentially explosive hazardous areas.

Product Structure

Mineral insulated cables is composed of a copper conductor, magnesium oxide powder mineral insulation and copper sheath. When cables are used in factories where copper is corrosive, an outermost layer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) can be added. In buildings or underground locations where aesthetics or easy accessibility are important for the cable, a halogen-free, low-smoke outer sheath can be added.

Conductor: Solid Copper , Class 1 to IEC 60228.

Insulation: It is composed of compacted magnesium oxide mineral powder, and its electrical properties meet the requirements of GB/T 13033.1/IEC 60702-1.

Metallic sheath: Annealed copper sheath, conforming to GB/T 13033.1/IEC 60702-1.

Non-metallic sheath: Made of polyvinyl chloride or halogen-free low-smoke polyolefin.


Performance parameter

This cable has a rated voltage of 750V. In terms of electrical performance, its insulation can withstand a 2.5kV test voltage for 1 minute without breakdown; the maximum permissible operating temperature is 250℃. Mechanically, the minimum bending radius during cable installation is 24 times the cable's outer diameter. Its fire resistance strictly complies with IEC 60331-1 standards, capable of remaining intact after 180 minutes of continuous combustion in a flame.

Furthermore, the outer diameter and ellipticity of the copper sheath of the cable meet the requirements of GB/T 13033.1 and IEC 60702-1 standards, with specific tolerances detailed in the relevant tables. The DC resistance of the conductor at 20°C meets the requirements for the first type of conductor in GB/T 3956, and the resistance of the copper sheath also meets the corresponding standard. Regarding insulation resistance, the insulation resistance between conductors and between the conductor and the copper sheath is not less than 1000 MΩ per kilometer, ensuring reliable insulation performance during long-term operation.


Comparison of fire resistance tests between mineral-insulated cables and ordinary cables:

Mineral-insulated cables showed virtually no change after the fire resistance test. Organic-insulated cables exhibited obvious carbonization.
